Highland Heritage
In the rugged mountains of Papua New Guinea, where dense rainforest meets high-altitude valleys, coffee is grown in one of the most remote environments on earth. Isolated villages, unpredictable weather, and steep terrain make access difficult—but they also create the conditions for truly exceptional coffee.
PNG Highlands Coffee was built to bring that experience out of the mountains and into your cup.

Papua New Guinea Beans
Our coffee comes from the highlands of Morobe Province, where rich volcanic soil, steady rainfall, and high elevation allow coffee cherries to ripen slowly. This extended growing process develops a smooth, balanced profile with low acidity and deep flavor.
Grown across small highland plantations and cultivated by local communities, the coffee is carefully harvested and prepared before beginning its journey out of the mountains.
Villagers carry freshly harvested coffee by foot through rugged terrain to remote airstrips—an effort that reflects both the difficulty and the value of coffee grown in this region.

Built From Experience
PNG Highlands Coffee began with firsthand experience.
In 2012, we saw both the potential of the region’s coffee and the challenges that prevented it from reaching the global market. In many cases, harvested coffee would spoil before it could be transported out of the highlands.
The solution wasn’t traditional—it required aviation.
A simple Cessna 206, allowed coffee to be transported from remote mountain airstrips to export hubs. Flying in PNG is demanding, with high-altitude strips, unpredictable weather, and narrow flight windows. Many of these airstrips allow only one way in and one way out.
Flights operated daily moving coffee out of the highlands while also delivering medicine and assisting with medical evacuations for local communities.
This direct, hands-on approach is what makes PNG Highlands Coffee different.

I know every square inch of this country, It's beautiful but dangerous. These airstrips aren't like home, they are one way in and one way out.

More Than Coffee
Coffee from Papua New Guinea is known for its distinctive profile. Our beans are graded in the specialty range offering a smooth, clean cup with low acidity. Expect notes of chocolate in darker roasts, with brighter hints of citrus, star fruit, and plum in medium roasts.
PNG Highlands Coffee represents more than just a product—it’s a connection to a place few people will ever experience.
From the remote highlands of Papua New Guinea to your daily routine, every cup carries the story of the land, the people, and the journey it took to get there.
